About us:
Owner Suki Waters, is a local Native American descendant, guide and kayak instructor who has been working with the public in outdoor recreation, interpretation and safety since 1979.
Other guides and staff are outdoor enthusiasts and professionals including guides, instructors and interns with their own unique experience and expertise. Most of us have been or are still active in volunteer or professional positions involving Recreation, Safety and Education. Our interns are future leaders in related outdoor safety, research or education fields.
We have water rescue personnel on staff including lifeguards, first responders and swiftwater and flood rescue technicians.
Keith Chandler:
Kayak Guide
Certified Lifeguard
Kayaker and nature enthusiasts. Semi-retired business owner.
Well, only semi. He works as a valuable, seasonal full-time and year round part-time, member of our team and is trusted and avid in landscaping and house sitting local's homes, including plants and pets.
This guy has fun staying busy and sharing is love of nature and we treasure him.
Barbara Gegan:
Client Services, Outdoor Hike and Interpretive Guide and Assist Kayak Guide and Outdoor Educator.
Current and long time interpretive volunteer for Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, and Garden Teacher for local Schools. Retired Teacher.
This gal deserves a "seal" of approval for avidly volunteering for Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods programs and for roaming the local outdoors sharing her appreciation of nature.
Coming onboard to help the owner be minimally staffed, by becoming our paid "booth babe" during Peak Covid absolutely helped save our programs.
Being a retired teacher she does not need to work full time seasonally, but she absolutely has from 2000 to 2004 and she remains a valuable part-time member of our team.
Thank you for all you do Barb.

Her love of the outdoors and well being is radiant and solid, lighting up any activity she is learning or leading.
We suspect she will quickly be lead guiding her own small tours in preparation to test to lead larger groups.
She already has her own success stories and we suspect she may also help to to create more as a member of our team.
Go Gita!
